On the east side of Italy opposite to Rome, you will find several small villages along the coast with beautiful mountains and beaches. When we went over to Italy for Christmas and New years we decided to visit some of these places. The first village we went to was San Benedetto del Tronto, a quite and small town during this time of the year but from what I understand this is a very popular place for Italians during summer vacations.
Here you can find all types of Italian restaurants but what they are most known for is their seafood which is amazing!
We took a long walk on the beach and tried to stop for a glass of wine on one of the many restaurants along the coast but unfortunately most of them where closed due to the holidays. The palm trees on the promenad together with the beach reminded me a bit of California, even if the village is very old it looked like a pretty clean and modern city.
We will definitely come back here in the summer and discover the real Italian holiday 🙂
